"Subject": "The purpose of this layer is to display representation of the following in Lycoming County: \"Designated Growth Areas,\" a region in a municipal or municipal plan that preferably includes and surrounds a city, borough or village, within which residential and mixed use development is permitted or planned at densities of one unit per acre or more, and commercial, industrial and institutional uses are provided or planned and public infrastructure services are provided or planned. - Lycoming County 2006 Comprehensive Plan, per PA MPC guidelines \"Future Growth Area,\" an area of a municipality or multi-municipal plan outside of and adjacent to a designated growth area where residential, commercial, industrial and institutional uses are permitted or planned ar vary densities and urban services may or may not be provided, but future development at greater densities is planned to accompany the orderly extension of urban services. - Lycoming County 2006 Comprehensive Plan, per Act 2000-67 (amendment to the PA MPC) The growth areas represent a policy decision to encourage the majority of growth to locate within the area, thereby reducing development and its impact on the rural areas outside the growth area.",
